Arran-Elderslie Honours First Deputy Mayor Mark Davis
CHESLEY, ON: The Municipality of Arran-Elderslie is paying tribute to Mark Davis, a devoted public servant and cherished member of our community. In recognition of his lasting contributions, flags across the municipality are being flown at half-mast.
Born and raised in Elderslie, Mark Davis dedicated his life to serving the people of this municipality. His public service began as a Councillor for the former Township of Elderslie. In 1999, Mark Davis became the first Deputy Mayor of the newly amalgamated Municipality of Arran-Elderslie. He continued to serve with distinction as Councillor for Elderslie Ward in 2004 and 2006, and as Deputy Mayor in 2010, 2014, and 2018, where he also served as Chair of the Local Recreation Committee and Chair of the Building Committee for the new municipal office.
He was also the past Chair of the Chesley Fire Board and played a pivotal role in the creation of the Multi-Municipal Wind Turbine Working Group. His passion for public works and his strong connection to the community helped shape how the municipality operates today.
Known for his thoughtful leadership and genuine care for residents, Mark Davis was always ready to listen and advocate for what mattered most to the people of Arran-Elderslie.
The Municipality extends its heartfelt appreciation for Mark Davis’s decades of service and the meaningful legacy he leaves behind.
