The Municipality of Arran-Elderslie maintains approximately 451 km of roads and streets in Arran-Elderslie. We also own and maintain over 65 bridges throughout the Municipality. The Public Works Department plans and directs the construction and maintenance of Municipal roads, bridges, parking lots, culverts, streetlights, sidewalks, civic address numbers, Municipal drains and other infrastructure.
Bruce County Public Works Association 2023 Scholarship
The Bruce County Public Works Association is offering a scholarship, valued at $1,000, to be presented to an outstanding student in Bruce County enrolled in a program related to public works, who has completed one or more years of post-secondary education. Selection is based on a combination of strong academic achievement, a demonstrated interest in public works at a municipal or county level, and leadership potential as evidenced through extracurricular or volunteer activities. Interested students from Bruce County who have completed at least one year are invited to apply.
Award Requirements and Application Deadline:
- A detailed letter explaining how you satisfy the terms of the award, as stated above in the award description (one – two pages maximum).
- A resume.
- Deadline: August 31st
- Submit completed application on or before the deadline to the Scott McLeod, Manager of Public Works

Entrances, Driveways and Culverts
If you are looking to build a new driveway or modify an existing one, you must contact the Municipality. Please fill out our online form or pick up a paper copy at the Municipal Office. You can view the fees regarding entrance permits, driveways and culverts in our Fees By-Law.
