Zoning By-Law

The Municipality of Arran-Elderslie Zoning By-Law regulates land use within the Municipality. Zoning classifies properties into categories such as:

• residential
• commercial
• industrial
• institutional
• agricultural

Each of these categories has legally enforceable regulations attached to them such as:

• allowable size of a property
• location and size of buildings on the property
• number of parking spaces that must be provided

Requesting changes to the by-law

If your proposed project is now allowed according to the Zoning B-Law, you can request:

• Minor Variance- small changes
• Amendment- substantial changes
