Purpose: PowerBank Corporation (formerly SolarBank Corp.) has been engaged with the Municipality of Arran‑Elderslie since 2023 regarding the proposed development of a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Chesley. The proposal consists of an approximately 4.99 MW / 19.96 MWh facility, including an access laneway and hydro connections, and was contracted under the Independent Electricity System Operator’s (IESO) LT1 procurement stream.
