The Chesley Centennial Pool will open for the season in late June 2026 and Tara Rotary Pool will open in late June 2026.

Pool lesson registration opens May 1, 2026.

The Municipality of Arran-Elderslie has two seasonal pools for you and your family to enjoy.

Programs

Both of our pool locations offer a broad range of fun and athletic programs. Online registration information will be posted here when open.

Swimming Lessons

Registration will open in May 2026. Online registration will be available using our online booking portal. Payment is due in full at the time of registration. If you registered last year and don't remember your account information, select the "Forgot Password" link and an email will be sent to you to reset your password and to update your account.

First come, first served. Every third registration in the same household is $20 off. Please call to receive your registration discount.

Lessons from parent assisted tot classes, up to Swimmer 9 of the Lifesaving Society program.

Aquafit

Keep fit and active.

Open to all age groups.

Instructors have completed a training course, to serve you better.

Aquafit takes place in both pools Monday to Friday from 11:00am to 11:45am and evenings from 7:30pm to 8:00pm.

Day camp swim

Day camp participants swim Monday to Friday from 2:00pm to 3:00pm.

Stroke correction

Available upon request. Please speak to the Pool Supervisor.

Adult swim

Adult Swimming is available in Chesley and Tara, Monday to Friday from 7:30pm to 8:00pm.

Pool rules

No person shall pollute the water in the swimming pool in any manner, which includes spitting and spouting of water, and blowing the nose in the pool or on the deck
Only patrons allowed on pool deck
77 Chesley and 90 Tara bathers only allowed on pool deck
Long Hair Must be tied back
Absolutely no:
- Boisterous play
- Glass containers
- Food and drink
- Sunbathing on deck
- Open sores or any communicable diseases allowed in pool enclosure
- Running on deck
- Flips (back)
- Diving in shallow end

Inclement Weather

The pool will be closed and programs will be cancelled on days with inclement weather, including heavy rain, thunder and lightning.

Every attempt will be made to reschedule lessons.

No refunds available.

Private Rentals

Private rentals are available when time permits. Please complete the Rental Request Form and we will get back to you regarding availability.

A pool rental includes a minimum of two lifeguards.

Backyard Pools

Did you know that:

Backyard pools are the number one location where children drown.
Each year in Canada, an average of 487 people die from drowning.
Drowning can occur in as little as 10 to 20 seconds, in only centimetres of water.

Everyone using your pool should:

Know how to swim
Know which part of the pool is deep or shallow
Know the location of the nearest phone
Always swim with a buddy, never alone
Be sober – alcohol and pools don't mix

Stay out of the pool if there's thunder, lightning, or if you cannot see the bottom of the pool clearly.
