TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Arran-Elderslie passed By-law 56-2026 on July 13, 2026 pursuant to Section 38(2) of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. P.13, as amended, to extend Interim Control By-law 65-2025 regarding Residential Care Facilities.
Purpose and Effect: The purpose and effect of By-law 56-2026 is to extend Interim Control By-law 65-2025 for an additional one-year period. The Interim Control By-law temporarily prohibits the establishment of new Residential Care Facilities within the Municipality of Arran-Elderslie while the Municipality undertakes a planning review and study to determine whether amendments to its planning policies and zoning regulations are required and whether such uses, or similar uses, should be permitted in the Municipality.
The By-law applies to all lands within the Municipality of Arran-Elderslie.
The extension permits the Interim Control By-law to remain in effect until August 10, 2027, unless repealed earlier by Council.

Appealing Council’s decision: Any appeal of By-Law 56-2026 to the Ontario Land Tribunal must be filed with the Municipal Clerk at cfraser@arran-elderslie.ca no later than August 4, 2026. Appeal forms and instructions are available on the Ontario Land Tribunal website. www.olt.gov.ca
Any appeal to the Ontario Land Tribunal must:
• be filed with the Municipal Clerk no later than August 4, 2026;
• set out the reasons for the appeal; and
• be accompanied by the fee required by the Ontario Land Tribunal.
Only individuals, corporations and public bodies may appeal an Interim Control By-law extension to the Ontario Land Tribunal. A notice of appeal may not be filed by an unincorporated association or group. However, a notice of appeal may be filed in the name of an individual who is a member of the association or group on its behalf.
