Employment type: Part Time (bargaining unit position within the Collective Agreement for CUPE and its Local 255.12. with a nine (9) month probationary period).

Reports to: Works Manager or Works Foreman
Pay Range: $23.83 (2025)
Work schedule: Two days per week - Thursday 8:00 am to 3:00 pm and Saturday 8:00 am to 3:00 pm, which may be subject to seasonal change

Job summary:
The Municipality of Arran-Elderslie is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Part Time Landfill Site Attendant to oversee daily operations at the municipal landfill site. This position plays an important role in ensuring safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible waste disposal while providing courteous service to the public.
General Duties
· Supervises and assists residents and contractors in their use of the waste site.
· Maintains the waste disposal site in an orderly and visually acceptable condition in compliance with the Certificate of Approval for the site.
· Maintain accurate records and performs other related duties as assigned.
· Collect fees as per the fee schedule and enter data into Waste Management software.
· Operation of weigh scales as well as controlling traffic entering and exiting the disposal site.
Knowledge and Skills
· Valid G driver’s license is an asset.
· Clean Criminal Record check is required.
· Familiar with Certificate of Approval and landfill operating rules and regulations.
· Experience with computers is required.
· Knowledge of Keystone Waste Management Software, Excel and debit machine handling abilities are an asset.
· Must be able to work independently, punctual and self-starter.
· Strong communication with colleagues and the public is needed to support positive public relations through professionalism and courtesy.
· Well organized, energetic team player.
· Knowledge of Health & Safety practices and sound judgment to ensure public safety and site integrity are required.
· Work safely around potentially hazardous materials.
· Physically capable of working outdoors in all weather conditions
